It has been
about 10 weeks since I last did an update! I'm just a whole different person in
pregnancy. Urgency is lacking, energy to do things is lacking, etc. We found
out at our mid-term sonogram that we are having a GIRL! We really want one of
each (at least), but the more having a girl sinks in, the more we get excited. James
is head over heals for her and she isn't even here. He gets so excited when he
can feel her move and I should start stocking up on tissue for when I see her
in his arms! It will be precious!
I found out
I have borderline Gestational Diabetes, and I am having to draw blood four
times a day to get my blood sugar count. It can get frustrating and annoying at
times, but I'm willing to do whatever I need to. I don't anticipate having it
with our next children though....I've learned a lot about it and now know
exercise during the glucose tests would have put me under the cut off. While,
that makes me mad to know I could have avoided all of this, I now know for next
time! Basically, the changes I've made to my diet have been eating MORE carbs
(werid huh?) because I wasn't eating enough. I also eat more food and have an
evening snack now too. All in all, I am overwhelmed by the amount I am suppose
to eat and often I just can't fit it all into my cramped stomach. Even after
eating all the extra carbs I lost 2lbs in the first week of the diet. It all
just seems so backward!
She is
still weighing more than she should. At our 29week sonogram she was 3lbs9oz in
the 91st%. That is down from her being in the 97th%. Maybe I just make big
babies....or maybe the machine is just flat wrong!? We will definitely find
out.
How far
along? 31w2d
Total
weight gain: I've lost a little bit since last time I posted I
think. Maternity clothes? Yes! I'm thankful the seasons are changing so I can add new things to my wardrobe. I was wearing the same few things every week. It didn't bore me, but maybe my co-workers?
Stretch marks? Not on my tummy!
Sleep: The usual....asleep....awake....pee....asleep....awake.....pee......asleep.....alarm.
Best moment this week: Just feeling overall pretty good! I have a baby shower with my QuarterLife Fellowship ladies this Sunday. I've been looking forward to that!
Miss Anything? I miss breathing, bending over, not spending all my time in the restroom, and a few adult beverages.
Movement: Yes! Baby girl is very active - it is probably my favorite thing about pregnancy! She stuck her foot out so hard one day we got a very clear idea of how big her feet were at the moment! James thought that was beyond cool!
Food cravings: No - I definitely missed out on that fun part of pregnancy!
Anything making you queasy or sick: No....praise God!!
Gender: We are having a baby girl!
Labor Signs: NO....but I finally realized what Braxton Hicks are and they've been happening for a few months.
Symptoms: I feel pretty good for this stage. I actually think I'm more comfortable (with her dropping some) now than I was in the 5th month!
Belly Button in or out? In, but it is sure getting shallow!
Wedding rings on or off? On
Happy or Moody most of the time: I'm generally happy except when driving here in St Louis....but that isn't because of pregnancy! ;)
Looking forward to: Our more frequent appointments and also meeting baby girl soon!
